Hard news

Accident on Bluff Street.

Local firefighters access the damage of a car that ran a red light. When it comes to physical context, this accident happened on Bluff Street on the light by Subway.

A witness to the accident fills out a witness statement. The road sign "500 No." also helps establish physical context.

This photo helps establish social context because this is a norm firefighters often do after an accident. They will pour kitty litter onto any oil or fluids that leaked from the vehicle.

*This accident was a little difficult to shoot since it was in the middle of the road, and emergency personnel wouldn't let me get too close.

  1. I like the shot you got of the oil/fluid clean up. I feel like that's an element of car wrecks that we don't usually see in the news. I also think including the street sign to establish physical context was a good move.
